Camera Work - The Barn

Image
Close Up Shot A Close Up shot is used to show  a certain feature or part of the subject takes up most of the frame. I used a close up when one of the main characters first comes across the ghost - this is to show the white complexion (ghostly like textured skin) which identifies that this character isn't normal. High Angle Shot A High Angle is a cinematic technique where the camera looks down on the subject and can make the subject seem vulnerable or powerless when applied with the correct mood, setting, and effects.  I used my high angle shots to suggest that the creature was looking down on the couple who were viewing the house - this was the signify that the creature is in change of the house & shows power. Point Of View (POV) Shot Point of View shot shot, also known as POV shot, is an angle that shows what a character is looking at. Double Page Spread

Image
When producing my Double Page Spread for my film, I used the online program called Canva. It allowed me to search for different layouts, shapes, frames as well as allowing me to upload my own personal photos that I wanted to use. Firstly I searched through all the magazine layouts to find the right format that I wanted. I came across this unique looking magazine cover with transparent triangles over the top of the title. This type of layout let me play around with the location of the triangles and the texts so then I could use the space efficiently. After adding the feature photo of the barn door key hole, I decided that my colour scheme was going to be grey scale - this was also due to the fact that my film was very dark also so I wanted to make sure that there was continuity throughout my production process. Final Film Poster

When editing my photos for my front cover film poster, I decided to carry on using Pixlr. I really experimented with the different effects that there are by selecting very dark effects to make the bottom of the steps look very dark so you cant see the bottom making the audience question whats at the bottom. This sense of the unknown conveys that my film poster is specific to the horror genre of film. The Colour Scheme - After looking at a lot of different film posters for the horror genre, i found that the common colours used were very dark and colourless (White, Black, Grey). This then encouraged me to also create this type of look. My film was set in a barn which didn't have much lighting, this has helped with the photos taken because the lack of light gives the photos a little edge which is ideal for a horror film location. Black  - Signifies death, the unknown and an omnious force. White  - Projects a sense of purity, rescues us from the darkness and neu...
