Final Film Poster

The Colour Scheme - After looking at a lot of different film posters for the horror genre, i found that the common colours used were very dark and colourless (White, Black, Grey). This then encouraged me to also create this type of look. My film was set in a barn which didn't have much lighting, this has helped with the photos taken because the lack of light gives the photos a little edge which is ideal for a horror film location.
Black - Signifies death, the unknown and an omnious force.
White - Projects a sense of purity, rescues us from the darkness and neutrality
As I began to upload my photo, I had already decided the type of look i wanted to convey for my horror film poster, the colours and effects were very easy to decide from. after deciding that the effect I wanted was black and white, I then added an overlay to make the photo look less prestige.
I then added an overlay of the effect 'Too Old' - then i picked Agnes, but decreased the amount used so the lightness was still there, but the black wasn't as dark because I felt as if the photo looked very edited. After finally deciding the amount of the effect i wanted. I then started to think about the type of font I wanted to use and also how I was going to set out the layout. i didn't know whether I should abide by the general film layouts or try to set it out differently to make my layout much more unique by not abiding by the normal conventions.
After applying the effect that I though was most suited to my horror theme, I felt as if the overall look was a bit sparse. So I started to explore the different editing tools that I could add. I found a section called 'Overlay' where you can add effects such as lights, people and smoke. I selected the smoke effect to add onto my main photo. I felt as if this was giving it a lot more depth and mystery.

When I was searching for a film Billing Block template to use, I came across examples of film poster blocks. They both used the same sort of font and also stayed with the same colour scheme of black and white. I like the way that there is a variety of different font sizes within the block itself.

After searching endlessly for a template and fonts, I decided to copy and paste one from a film Billing Block & selected each any every letter that I wanted to keep on my Block for my film poster. I like the way that when I deleted the black background of the block below, It shown a very unique shape around the text which I quite liked because it drew away from the normal conventions of the film making poster style.
