Supernatural Mask

The pale colour of white on the face of the mask makes it look like a supernatural creature. This is due to humans not having that colour of skin. The colour of blue around the eyes also makes it seem very unusual and scary. This is reflected through the nun dressed supernatural character who appears in the horror film series 'The Conjuring'. By using this mask as the supernatural creature, this abides by the conventions of certain horror films such as 'The Conjuring' - as the supernatural nun have a very pale face...This unusual look will create an atmosphere when they enter scenes because or its unique look.

Old Person Mask
Image result for old person horrorThe wrinkled face of mask enphasises the age of the character who may or may not wear the mask. The pale/yellow tint of colour within the mask also creates an aging factor. The head scalf covering the grey lifeless hair makes the character seem living and realistic due to the human like feature like the grey hair.

We decided to use masks instead of make up, this is due to the fact that we knew that we would have to film a number of times due to availability of some of our characters. The reasons behind also using masks was so then there was a use on continuity throughout the filming of the short film, this was so then every character would look the same by wearing the same clothing and having their hair and make up the same.

Make Up Ideas?

By attempting to perform and create this look every time we filmed would be very unlikely. This was due to the fact that we didn't go through with this look for the short film. The use of the scars would be good but because of ensuring that the film uses continuity is a main feature within out outcome of filming. This is so then our horror short film doesn't convey amateurism. So we decided that masks would be much more easier and would reduce the amount of time preparing everytime we filmed.
