For these practise examples for my film poster, I used the website called Pixlr which is an editing app online which edits photos by using different effects, adjustments & overlays. This app allows you to venture into using different effects and amounts of effects as well as using overlaying effects like 'smoke' and 'brokem' which I have used in some of my practise posters. This use of the app allows you to play around with different effects, colour correctors or to add certain colours into the photos edited to ensure that they abide by the conventions of the horror film genre. I decided to use the effects 'Logan' & 'Shaan'.

I wanted to use the sound effects of a young girl talking when ever the ghost/creature is present within the film, this is to try to to add an innocent aspect into the film even though the creature/ghost is dangerous. This is to try to confuse the viewers into thinking that its innocent before it strikes. I felt as if this type of sound effects will keep the viewers on edge throughout the film when it is present. The high notes played and the slow pace creates an increase in tension and creates a suttle atmosphere change. The use of a simple instrument like a piano gives a sense of simplicity and purity which is turn, when the high notes are played, it causes an increase in tension for the audience to then become on the edge of their seats because they are waiting for something to happen at the end or at the peak of the music. Couple - Wearing just general casual clothing * * * * *   Estate Agent - Shirt & Tie * * * * By wearing a shirt and tie, trousers & smart shoes. this makes the character seem much more professional and act as if they are playing the part of the estate agent much more convincicing as they always dress really smart. The Estate agent will also be holding a clipboard with information about the house/building. This is so then it seems much more realistic that the couple is being shown around the house. Ghost - Ripped Clothing & Mask * * * * * I used a pain short sleeved dress & sewed bandages to it, this is to try to make it seem like its ripped & it also aqbides by the conventions of a horror film. The colour of white is the typical outfit that signifies that its a ghostly figure yet the colour suggests purity.

For the short film, I didn't want to just jump into the filming process without having some sort of practise and to work around with the location (lighting & props) - This allowed me to gain some clips that I can potentially use within the film as well as having some scenes where I can replicate again in the real filming. By incorporating a practise run of filming for the short film, after collecting all clips and looking back, there are scenes that don't particularly fit together that need clips to lead into it.  This has then allowed me to plan out what shots and different camera angles I can use within clips as preparation for the real short film filming. This prep I feel helps analyse where certain faults can occur within the real filming can be prevented before filming. Drive Way For Sale Sign Leaflet - Edited barn into it Pathway Door Stairs Gaps in ceiling   Windows & Gaps Practise Filiming I practised filming through wooden planks that borded up windows, this was to try to show the POV of the ghost/supernatural creature watching them from inside the building/house. - This will also introduce some sort of unusual filming to suggest that the film is a horror. Upstairs This is the upstairs of the barn, the old and lifeless objects suggests that there is no life within the building/house/barn. This large, spacious amount of room is where majority of the scenes would be set and where the ghostly figure will apear.

Supernatural Mask The pale colour of white on the face of the mask makes it look like a supernatural creature. This is due to humans not having that colour of skin. The colour of blue around the eyes also makes it seem very unusual and scary. This is reflected through the nun dressed supernatural character who appears in the horror film series 'The Conjuring'. By using this mask as the supernatural creature, this abides by the conventions of certain horror films such as 'The Conjuring' - as the supernatural nun have a very pale face...This unusual look will create an atmosphere when they enter scenes because or its unique look.  Old Person Mask The wrinkled face of mask enphasises the age of the character who may or may not wear the mask. The pale/yellow tint of colour within the mask also creates an aging factor. The head scalf covering the grey lifeless hair makes the character seem living and realistic due to the human like feature like the grey hair....

This is a very good example of a short film is a psychological set up. The use of editing is very clean and precise. The colourful effects used really adds a very dramatic effect. At the shot 3:11 - the use of the cut scene of colour shows the split lives. I love the use of colour because it makes it seem as if the short film isn't set in a normal world, this is due to the trees and grass being purple and orange which aren't the normal green colour of them. Throughout the short film, the use of music is very effective because it sets the scene of searching for something. The change in colours of the leaves and grass makes it seem as if she is hulusinating which suggests a serious mental matter. The use of the varied different angles and shots within the short film is very interesting, the use of the handheld shots throughout creates an atmosphere that its very free.By including the same character twice within scenes gives a very strong aspect of a physchol...
